Order of Events for April 26 - Day 2
6:30 - Woke up (good old jet lag)
Watched river boats in Chao Phyra and took pictures from balcony
8:15 - Breakfast - french toast, fresh orange juice, and local fruits
Left pent house to pick up traveling companion - Gary
Went to silk tailor and then ATM for money and bought knock-off Rolex
watches
(less than $9 a piece)
Grand Palace tour - Cambodian, Thai, and ________ buildings - Buddhist buildings
-3 offerings went enter - flower (?), yellow candle
(teaching), and incense
Reclining Buddha - 2nd largest in Thailand
On to Vinamnek Mansion - Rama V had it built and only lived in it for four
years, made of teak wood
Back home for short nap - checked emails :-)
6:15 - off to pick up Gary and head to The Sala at the Oriental Hotel
(considered by some to be the nicest hotel in the world)
The Sala (7:00-10:00 pm)
- sitting with holes under tables - traditional food, fruit
carvings
- traditional dances and a fight (reminded me of three
stooges but with just two guys with sticks)
